This last weekend Ryan went to California to have his arm x-rayed. Yes he is fine. Don't freak out. I had people asking me all weekend why he had to go to California to have his arm x-rayed. When he was in high school they found a tumor in his humerus.
See the big bump? Ryan wanted me to add that the "u" in the middle of the tumor is a light bulb behind it.
This is what his humerus looks like now post-surgery. (see the where it is now smooth? that's where the tumor was). He has to go back every so often to have it x-rayed to just make sure the tumor is not growing back. He goes to the doctor that did the surgery because he knows his history. So...since he was in California I was flying solo this last weekend.
So I...
took a picture of a pretty sunset
made red velvet cupcakes for Valentine's Day
and tried to occupy myself so I wouldn't be so lonely. Of course no weekend would be complete without some type of small mishap. When I was making the red velvet cupcakes I was on the first batch (we only have one muffin pan) I was trying to get the toothpicks out to see if the cupcakes in the oven were done. While I was doing this I knocked over an unused ice cube tray that we had above the oven by the toothpicks. It fell right into the batter and then to the floor splattering all over the kitchen. Sorry no pictures. I was trying to clean it up quickly so it wouldn't stain, but it was quite the disaster. Amazingly I did not get any on myself.
Fortunately everything looks good with Ryan's arm and he doesn't have to go back for 2 years. Hooray! He came home on Monday night just in time for Valentine's night. I was very excited to have him home.
A few weeks ago the pre-dental society had a wax carving contest where you were supposed to carve a piece of wax into a tooth. (This used to be on the DAT so it is not totally random) Well Ryan went and did the carving and was chosen as one of the winners!! He won a coupon for 5 Buck Pizza.
he's goofy, but I love him anyways
I found this blog recently. If you are currently living in Rexburg/have lived here recently I think you would appreciate: the daybook

oh my gosh, Drew LOVES 5 buck pizza. I need to know where it is and take him! They have them SLC and that is the only place he wants to eat when we go down there.
ReplyDeleteYour cupcakes look lovely, wait until you get pregnant...your catastrophes may double like mine did...not cool. Many cake batter mishaps! heavy sigh...
I am glad Ryan's arm is good to go. And props on the yummy cupcakes. They are our favorites!! Seriously I would have not even thought about the stain and given up right then and gone to read or watch TV. You are a trooper
