new year, big changes

So this is the very beginning of what is going to be a very busy and exciting year for us. We are both going to graduate this year. Hooray! I am graduating in April and Ryan will be graduating this next December. This year is going to be full of so many choices and changes. I'm very excited because I am so sick of living in Rexburg, but at the same time I am nervous to leave. Ryan is scheduled to take the DAT at the end of March. He is taking the Kaplan course to prepare for the test right now.

Since I am going to have no potential job prospects in Rexburg I applied for a job to work at Yellowstone National Park, which I think could be kind of exciting. Their season for summer starts mid-April and runs until the last couple weeks of October and maybe even into the beginning of November. Since Ryan is going to be going to school during most of that time I figured that it could potentially work out really well for our schedule.

We are still working on getting in better shape. (Getting in shape seems like it is indefinitely on most women's new years resolutions, does it not?) One thing that seems so frustrating is when you are trying to not eat absolute garbage, and usually when I am doing a pretty good job of eating healthy, I will have very strange cravings. Last week I was craving beef top ramen. Who craves beef top ramen?! I mean it's not like I have ever eaten top ramen a lot or anything and it is horrible for you. I was so proud of myself I did not give in. We went to Broulim's and while we were there we were looking for crackers which happen to be an aisle that is split where one side of aisle is crackers and cookies and the other is freezer food. And it's not just any freezer food it is the ice cream section. I looked across to the freezer section not feeling tempted at all until I saw it sitting there calling my name. It was none other than Samoas girl scout cookie ice cream. If you know anything about girl scout cookie sales they only happen once a year, which means that girl scout cookie ice cream is only available once a year. Oh I wanted it so badly but I had to stop myself and  think "I want to be thin more than I want to eat that ice cream....but not really"  Fortunately I had enough will power to not give in. Also Ryan dragging me away, after seeing what I was looking at and my beginning to salivate, helped.

I also want to get better at taking pictures since I will have the time.

I was browsing the other day and found this really neat blog that I might be a little blog envious of. You should check it out. I really enjoy reading it.

I also chopped a significant amount of hair off at the beginning of the year. It was something I had been meaning to do for a while, but kind of dreading it at the same time. Doesn't it seem like there are always things like that in life? You know it will be much better if you just get it over with and do it, but you really don't want to. Anyways here are some pictures.
